PAYM Convention 2006 Poster

I went to the PAYM convention 2006 yesterday. It was my first convention ever attended and I was not sure of what to expect. Well actually, I expected it to be a fun event because after all, most of the participants would be youths. However, it wasn't that exciting. Thankfully there's Gurmit Singh to make the whole event much more exciting.

Nothing much happened really. The Guest-of-Honour was Mr Teo Chee Hean and other VIPs include Dr Maliki Osman and other PA/ PAYM advisors. The programme was simple.

The starting of the event was good, just because Gurmit was the one entertaining us all. He tried to move us before Mr Teo's arrival with some games and he was so funny! But then, inevitably, all fun would stop and that was what happened. Other performances such as the one put up by the various youth groups took us 35 years down the road when PAYM was first established. It starred the Starhub guy and I think one of the Kids Central star. I know it was supposed to be exciting, but it wasn't at all!

For those who don't know what PAYM is, it is the People's Association Youth Movement (PAYM) and it's the biggest Youth organisation in Singapore.

Then after that, we had our tea-break. Finally FOOD!

They served sandwiches, cakes and this cinnamon cookies. I ate and I ate. I ate even during the discussion segment. Oh ya! In addition, I kept going to the toilet because I had too much to drink (14 glasses of water)! I needed fluids...

Then finally it ended (well actually not la, but me and Angela desided to get out of there) The ones attended were me, Angela, Devi and Patrick (my YEC friends). We skipped the dinner part but it's okay...
