+What a musical day...+

If you know me right, you'll know that I larva music or stuff that has something to do with music. That explains why I joined the band, why I started singing since I was like 6 and why I love musicals and theatre. Today was special. It's like the whole day right, it was packed with what else, MUSIC!

I just got back from the Esplanade; Theatre by the Bay watching cabaret. It was so good! Even though I was sitting at the top gallery (Circle Seat 3), it was so great because the stage was full of drama, colorful characters and of course, GREAT MUSIC! Kudos to those who've made Cabaret a success and hope you'll have a re-run next year. I want to watch it again. Well I'm going to give a short description about it. The story revolves around in the 1930s, when then World War 1 erupted. In other words, it's in the Hitler era. It's a story about an American guy from Pennsylvania who comes to Berlin, Germany, to find an inspiration to write his novel. Clifford Bradshaw (Jason Chan) met Susan Bowles (Emma Yong) in a nightclub somewhere in Berlin and little that they know, what seems to be a one night stand, it turns out to be a compassionate love between the two. The musical is spiced up with the famous Fei Xiang as the Master Ceremonist of the musical, your night will be filled with fun and laughter, and possible the urge to dance. However, what is thought to be a Happy ending, the love between Cliff and Sally vanished due to political and relationship issues, thus Sally returns to work at her previous Kit Kat Club as a singer and prostitute. Oh yes, prostitutes! The whole story revolves around love, sex and more sex. The cleavage shown by the stellar cast would be able to cast all the guys in the audience of their seats. Oh ya, did I mention that it's about homosexuality as well? Characters such as Hans and I don't know who, they portrayed gay-ism and the actors were succesful in delievering it. There's even a kiss scene between Cliff and Hans! Wow! That's a first. This Cabaret The Musical is the remake of the 1972 musical Cabaret, playwritted by Christopher Isherwood and Jon Van Druten, and starring the famous Liza Minnelli. So to all of you with nothing else to do with your life, I strongly recommend you guys to watch this musical, which lasts to 30 July... oops too late la... but nvm... maybe next time.

In the morning, I had the Band outreach programme and it was fun! Three secondary schools came: Evergreen Secondary School, Northview Secondary School and North Vista Secondary School. The highlight of the day was the combined rehearsal and it was refressing. finally a big band. I called it the 'Outreach Band'! Okla... that's all i have for y'all. Happy surfing!
