+Down Memory Lane: A Recap of what seems to be a hectic year+

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've updated my blog. I would like to end the year with mhar we usually call 'A Walk Down Memory Lane' and I will show you a month-by-month things that happened to me/ made happened by me.

January

Ah yes, Me, Aishah, Datch and Sumaiyah. This was taken on the last day of her stay in YJC. Miss her loads!

March

Once again, fate has brought me to CTG163 where I met Haziyah (left) and Farhana. Such wonderful and crazy peeps!

May

It was the SYF (Singapore Youth Festival) Period. Here, I'm with the Saxophonists of EVG winds, hours before their turn to compete. They may look calm, but they were anything but.

Boys just wanna have fun, before a competition that is..

Then it was YJ Winds turn. This was taken after our turn and thankfully, we got a Silver and it was so emotional that some cried even on the way back to school!

Unfortunately though, I suffered a medical disorder called Ball's Palsy (that explains the face) where I had problems controlling my face. But still, I went up on stafe and pretended to play.

YJ Winds had our 2nd concert, themed 'To Infinity and Beyond', we played pieces such as Mercury and of course, Empire Strikes Back. I didn't perform though due to my sickness.

June

A Family Portrait? This was taken in our apartment before checking-out of Tiara Beach Resort.

Smiles all around as we head for our next destination.

Thou shall not lie or the you'll get STONED!

My unexpected performance on the last night of our Homestay programme at Kampong Lonek, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

July

My first cat in years! World, meet my lovely pet cat, B'Lia aka Bell! Cute right!

Little Blue-Eyed Wonder!

September

September 7th marks the day when EVG Winds had their concert 'Music with Hearts' at Republic Poly's Music Studio. Here you see the Saxophone Seniors with their Solos for the piece 'When I Walk Alone'.

October

Here, we had a consultation with Miss Yeo (Geog Tutor) at McDonalds, but as Haziyah was around, we ate and talked instead of studying. Lolx!

On the Eve of Hari Raya Puasa, B'Lia decides to take a nap amongst the Ketupats! Cute!

The three Stooges! Meet my cousins!

The Bully and I!

Hari Raya outing with the H2 Malay Students.

Hari Raya Outing with Khalis, Rai, Affiq and the other Montley Crew from EVG!

December

For the second consecutive year, I participated in the Junior College Band Festival. Though I must say, it wasn't as good as last year's festival, I just love the pieces the Fennell band played.

During the interval, I managed to catch up with Khai and Kak Syafiah. Such a sweet couple!

President Zul and V.President of Slackers Club having fun with each other... on a Tuba! Lolx!

Look at the Grandeur of the Esplanade Concert Hall. It's been a blessing to have performed here twice.

Cam-Whoring in the dressing room: Me, Zul and erm... Casper's back.

What I love about Band fest is that student musicians from various schools, coming together and sharing and embracing music together.

[The Link Between Sarcasm and STUPIDITY...]

Hey people, prepare yourselves for one of those entries that offend people and this is targeted at this very person whom I know and I'm sure most of us know as well. I guess by looking at the title you can tell who...

Well, here goes. This person, I guess that he/she has an inefficiency in detecting sarcasm whenever it is thrown towards him/ her or anyone else. Ok I admit that I said something bad to one of my classmates but I meant it as a joke, and I'm sure others take it as such as well, except for this person. He/ She said that it was mean of me to say as such and I guess that he/ she is oblivious that he/ she feels the same way towards the person. Come on la, even his/ her behaviour around this classmate of ours is so obvious la! Let me give an example (which happens a lot of times). Whenever this classmate sit near him/ her or beside him/her. He/ She would screw up his/her face and after some time decides to move him/herself to a place which is further away from this classmate. I know that this classmate might not be pleasant to our olfactory senses, but give the person some slack will you! And I guess that he/ she is so oblivious to his/ her actions that maybe this entry might just give a smack at the back of his/ her damn head! Talk about hours and hours of studying, even to the extent of staying back in school every night but ended up being a 'senior'! But I know he/ she has the knack of doing that. SO I'm not surprised there.

He/ she also need to brush up on his/ her skills on differentiating the jokes from the real thing la! And there's one incident which happened a few months back which made many eyes roll and people making fun of him/her... and still is. I'm sure some of you may know what I meant. Even my name got dragged into the incident, which in fact I wasn't even involved in it at all!

Talk about hypocrism, he/ she is the hypocrite him/herself. Get a life LOSER!

Well that's it, insult me, scream at me for all I care but reflect on yourself first before bad-mouthing about/ towards others.

So long!

[The Eve of Singapore’s 42nd…]

You think that I could get rid of you that easily huh? Well, here’s another entry. But before I go on any further, HAPPY 42nd BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!

So How’s my eve of National Day? –Tiring! Well what do you expect, in the morning, YJ had its 3-in-1 celebrations which includes National Day Commemoration, Sports Day and College day and the band had to perform some pieces. To make it worse, we played under the scorching sun and without chairs! It is by far the most unenjoyable performance for me. No offence but I’m speaking the truth. To add on to that, kept seeing the same folks clinging on to one another and somehow, it irritates me. Even my dear gossip buddy in band thinks so.

So anyway, in a way, the school events were banal to the point of extinction and Rodney won the House Cup- AGAIN! And Admiralty as usual, the bottom three. No surprise there. But hey, I wasn’t even there at the Grandstand most of the time as I was sleeping in the band room. Well, at least I get to watch the staff race and the ENGLISH DEPARTMENT won an event! 2nd and 3rd were teachers from the Science and Maths department, but hey, ENGLISH rules!

Then after the shool events, went to visit Hidayah at Tan Tock Seng Hopital and Alhamdulillah she’s in stable condition. To think that there were only six of us there, but apparently, Cecilia, Shikin and Dianah came as well. Our dear Haziyah went as well. What a funny girl she was, and still is. Some of us bought and/or made Hidayah some things that we got from the hospital shops- where something happened which I am at no liberty to discuss it with you guys. Then after 45 minutes past 2, we decided to take off. While some of us went to eat, me, Sumaiyah and Aishah decided to head back home. On the way back, we met up with a friend from 'first three months' and he's now in SAJC. Good for you lad!

Then got home, rested for a while and took off for the city, where I met Aishah, Mala, Shahrir, Farahin, Madhiah, Farhanah and Addinu for a performance/ competition at Victoria Theatre and I never expected the turn-out to be a lot. We attended this 'Pentas Budaya: Sulam, Selam, Silam' and it was so exciting! A friend of mine from Mendaki back in the day was one of the actors/ competitor there. And guess what, I've learnt of a new word- "Sophisti-KETOD"! (sophisticated). I guess I laughed the loudest out of the 8 of us as I it was time for me to let my hair down (figuratively). Apparently, my friend's group didn't win but the winning group's performance is very good as well. Congrats Purnama Sari!

Afterwards, we decided to find a place to eat, but even the Mcdonalds at Boat Quay was packed. With that, Farahin, Madhiah and Addinu headed for home. Apparently, we were at this street which had lots of pubs and Addinu pulled me and Shahrir aside to give us some security advices before me, Mala, Shahrir, Farhanah and Aishah ventured of into the unknown and dangerous street. Alhamdulillah, we managed to get out of there safely and decided to roam about to search for other food stalls. Finally after what seemed 30 minutes, we reached Chinatown and went for Mcdonalds there. It was not until midnight when we flagged down a cab and all of us dropped at Yishun where we all went out separate ways.

With that people, concludes this entry. But before I go off, I would like to thank some people. Firstly, all of you who went out with me last night, especially to Aishah, Farhanah and Shahrir for helping me out financially (I promise to pay you guys back asap) and Addinu for the advice that you gave to me and Shahrir. So thanks a lot guys!

So 'till then, toodles everyone!

[The Rebellion…]

Hey guys! I’m back for the week and I’ve been wanting to talk to you about this ever since Monday. So here goes:

Monday was the most scary day that I had this year. It’s not because of tests or not doing my homework. But it is about the health of my classmates! The day started off normally until our dear Haziyah vomited and I don’t who, adviced her to take early leave- which she did by the way. Because of that, we were late for GP lesson.

However, that’s not the scariest part. It happened during maths lesson and one of my classmates suffered fits. It was a tense situation and ALMOST everyone was shocked and in a way, helped her to calm down. It was so scary that when I saw her having the fits, I started reciting Al-Quranic verses that I know of. I was so caught up with what was happening that I didn’t realize something else that happened. Sumaiyah, Aishah and I guess Nurafidah went to the office to get help and once she was sent to the office to treat treatment, we continued with our work. Truth is, while doing the ‘supposedly’ test as the class assignment, I kept thinking about my classmate- thinking whether she is alright and all. So some of us (well mainly the Malay students) went to check up on her in the office and some of us were told to leave and go back to our CT venue.

It not until then that I found out the other thing that happened when my classmate got the fits. Apparently I was told that someone had, instead of helping out or acknowledge the Maths class incident, said something inhumane and rude. Oh well, it has got something to do with the words “Maths Test” and “screwed” and the action of ‘looking at the time-table to check on what lesson would be next’ which at the same time, not ACKNOWLEDGING what was going on! How could she do that? Come on l, what if the one having the fits is her and that no one, I mean NONE at all, came to her help. I guess that she did not understand the meaning of APATHY and ‘PUTTING YOURSELF/ HERSELF in the other’s shoes’. Come on la, you’re like 16/ 17 years old this year and I am sure that you do know how to respect others right!

The the exciting part was, during CT period, everyone knew what she did and we somehow tried to discuss her actions discreetly (well, I guess we were being nice) but all thanks to our dear CT and her dumb-headedness, we majorly digressed and apparently didn’t manage to affect her in any way. Talk about using YOUR BRAIN, especially in JC la!

Up ‘till now, most of us are still talking about her and her dumb actions, and guess what, things will never be the same again…

So to this dumb friend of ours, can you please, try to GET YOUR HEAD RIGHT!

To blog or not to blog...

Hey people! It's been a while since I've blogged. I've been going through alot during my absence from cyberspace and I've never been much happier. I'm doing great! The illness that I told you guys about have mostly healed and I've did fairly well for by Block Tests! The only thing that angers me quite constantly is the presence of the 'Turtleneck' and I've decided to call my class, 'The Order of the Turtlenecks'! Guess who this 'Turtleneck' of ours is.

Anyway, lets begin on today's topic. Blogging has inevitably become a world's norm and more and more people around the world have their own blogs. Blogs are meant to allow people to express what they feel about their lives and all other crap there is. But people should be more careful about what they say in their blogs. I'm not saying that they should stop blogging, but instead, I'm trying to point out that blogs, like all things, have its flaws.

A few days earlier, during assembly, a friend of mine told me that she had done my friend test. I was somewhat relieved that someone has started a conversation with me as the assembly was banal to the point of extinction, I asked her one quetion, Have you ever thought of making your blog private?'. Her being who she is, she immediately gave me an argument. She went on by saying that she wouldn't even start her blog if it were to be made private and all the other stuff that she said.

I read her blog and frankly, her entries are so personal to the point that some of them, well most of them are offensive- like as WERE mine, then. I'm just trying to point out, a blog must be healthy in content and not offensive in a way that could creat controversy. Speaking from my own experience, you would WANT to avoid such controversy. One of her entries talked about a rift she had with another friend of mine (which I found a blood-sucking hypocrite- pardon my language) and she somehow included me as one of the people involved, which I wasn't! This controversy had sparked several arguments, fights etc and even, people are starting to make fun of her. Remember my entry on suicide, if you're a frequent of my blog, you would have seen all those stupid remarks made by the public. Well, hers is worse. This hypocrite friend of mine still bitch about her to other people like what she has been doing for the past few years I've known her, without even realising it!

So people, you do have the right to blog, but please, try to make it a healthy one... There's more to worry other than starting of controversies!
